Romance Was Born Winter 2011

For the Winter 2011 collection Romance Was Born designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales have borrowed from a surplus of influences across the Asian continent: kimonos, pandas, cherry blossoms, cheongsams, Bengali tiger prints, pyjamas, gold dragons… And then there’s the usual Romance touches: sequins, silk vs spandex, leopard vs houndstooth, outrageous knits, and a Carmen Miranda head dress knit. Although it sounds like a crazy mishmash, for this collection they have toned down the “zany” and turned up the sexy and the results are pretty darn fabulous. Try a breathtaking Spanish black lace sweater top with an amazing scoop back or perhaps a beautifully cut leopard-and-leather mini dress. There’s plenty to choose from.
