NZ Already Capitalising On Same-Sex Marriage Tourism

In the rainbow coloured wake of New Zealand parliament’s celebrated decision to legalise same sex marriage because they’re more progressive and modern than us and not at all beholden to archaic notions of what constitutes a family/loving relationship
even if that means upsetting a few people who it doesn’t really affect
anyway, local tourism body Positively Wellington has launched a new campaign aimed at giving same-sex couples in Australia the chance to win their own dream wedding in Wellington.

With legislation taking effect in August and up to 1000 Aussie gay couples indicating that they would travel to New Zealand to get married, the competition provides prospective Aussie newlyweds with everything they need to make that happen: a wedding package worth $20,000,including return flights for the wedding party, a wedding planner, a ceremony at New Zealand national museum Te Papa, two nights accommodation and a reception.

Note: Two rings to rule them all will not be provided.

Competition details will go live on www.WellingtonNZ.com from Saturday April 27.
