Lara Bingle’s BAZAAR TV Debut

You guys had plenty to say when we first blogged about Lara Bingle’s appointment as Harper’s BAZAAR’s Fashion Week guest blogger. Can she string a sentence together? you asked as allusions to car cashes were made and eyes rolled in sockets.

Well the first round of Bingle-lead interviews have hit the internet as part of BAZAAR TV’s RAFW coverage and they’re actually quite endearing. I don’t know, maybe they benefit from brevity. First up is designer du jour Dion Lee who discusses the importance of being self-critical and his exploration of print, softer draping and pleating instead of the harder sculptural territory for which he’s known.

Bingle also interviews Julia Nobis the Sartorialist-approved clotheshorse who we dubbed Australia’s next big thing back in February. Thankfully, in spite of all the international demand Nobis doesn’t take things too seriously and appears to be quite grounded. Here she discusses a Freja Beha Erichsen mentorship and the general ridiculousness that is the fashion industry.

Now you’ve seen the interviews how do you think Bingle fared?
