Harper’s BAZAAR has enlisted Lara Bingle as their guest blogger/presenter during Rosemount Australian Fashion Week coming up in May.
Harper’s BAZAAR’s online editor Anna McLeod explained the decision to take on the scandal-magnet, saying:
“We’re really excited to have Lara with us for RAFW. She will bring a unique, fresh and fun spin to our online coverage and it’s a complete departure from the norm because she’s not someone in the industry, but she has a great fashion sensibility so her RAFW experience will come from a different point of view.”
As far as the responsibilities of her role are concerned, Bingle will be reporting from backstage and front row to provide an “insider’s view” of the event, with daily video blogs, including interviews with designers, street style snapshots and so forth.
Whether this is a move of absolute insanity or one of pure marketing genius from BAZAAR… well, only time will tell. But if there’s one thing Ms Bingle knows how to do it’s make headlines.
There’s definitely a lot of skeptical people out their who’ll be interested to see if she can actually pull it off.
