IKEA’s New Ad Celebrating Same-Sex Couples Is The Allen Key To Happiness

Kings of flatpack furniture, IKEA, have knocked it out of the park with its latest ad – a brilliantly inclusive poster that shows a mixed-race, same-sex couple cuddling on the couch in their chic AF apartment.
Flying proudly behind them is a flag that reads: “All homes are created equal”.
TOO FKN RIGHT.
The ad reads less like a token gesture of inclusivity and more on-point acknowledgment that all definitions of family are good and valid.
It’s not the first time IKEA has shown a same-sex couple in their advertising – the Swedes have included gender-diverse couples in their ads for yonks.
Check out the extremely 90s vibe of this TV spot, ft. a couple of lovebirds getting excited about a dining table and chairs.
‘Onya, IKEA.
