Because sleeping on Ikea isn’t the same as sleeping in Ikea we’ve always felt compelled to hide in one of their aesthetically pleasing laundry hampers and spend the night in an Ikea display room. Now we can do it without going to jail! With promises of transforming their maze-like stores into “girly heaven” via “much loved elements from teenager slumber parties”, Ikea court the female homemakers of Australia with an invitation to spend the night inside one of their Australian showrooms. We’re imagining a Night At The Museum type scenario where tables come to life and desperate people are forced to subsist on one dollar hot dogs and saw dust. Sounds like fun!
Starting in Sydney Friday March 25th then Brisbane and Melbourne Saturday 26th March, Ikea have organized a female friendly night of “chick flicks, pampering and waiter service from handsome men” in what will be a first for Australian branches of the Swedish furniture store. Hopefully the Swedish thing extends to these “handsome men” too.
