iBugs and iGlitches: Apple’s iOS7 Is Far From Perfect

Malibu Stacey’s new hat Apple‘s new mobile operating system, iOS7, went live this week to much online excitement – Mashable reports that some 7 million tweets were sent about iOS7 in the last two days.

Despite six versions being beta tested, iOS7 isn’t perfect. And because we, as consumers, demand perfection from a free thing that we didn’t necessarily have to obtain and use straight away, a Tumblr blog called Sloppy UI has been set up highlighting design flaws in the new Apple user interface. There’s a lot of nitpicky designery stuff that’s pointed out, including uneven line spacing, poor contrast and stuff overlapping with other stuff, but there are technical flaws too, like inconsistent battery life readings, and a pretty major security hole that can allow anyone to sneakily bypass the iOS7 lockscreen to access contacts information and photos –  which means that someone could break into your phone and see just how great your cat is before you put it on Facebook.

Apple has been frantically updating the system to deal with bugs and glitches that have surfaced, and a 7.0.1 update is expected to land very soon.
