Beauty Products So Visually Lush, They’re Worth It Just For The #Shelfie

What’s your #1 priority when it comes to beauty products? That they work? Pfffft – rookie. Obviously, the primo reason you buy a beauty product is because it looks damn good when you line it up on your dresser/bathroom cabinet/sink alongside other, equally aesthetically masterful products.

Okay, maybe that’s a bit of a false statement. There’s no point forking out hundreds for a perfume you hate just because the bottle’s cool. Or a face cream that makes you break out. But really, there are loads of genuinely great products in market right now that also look damn fine in an Instagram post. Say what you will, there’s something refreshing about having shelves that aren’t just a bunch of ugly mess, and make you look like some super chic lifestyle blogger.
We’ve rounded up some of of our current faves – yes, we love these for what’s inside the bottle. The fact that look bloody amazing in our bathroom is just an added bonus.

The latest in Tom Ford’s Orchid fragrance range, Orchid Soleil is the kind of fragrance you expect some about-to-be-major new model would spritz on before going to meet her equally almost-famous model boyfriend at a dive bar. It smells expensive (der, it’s Tom Ford), but also sexy and painfully cool. Oh, and that rose gold bottle is so chic, you could essentially display it as art.
Herbivore Botanicals is undoubtedly one of the most hyped brands of 2017 – in part because their products are getting rave reviews for their efficacy, and also because their packaging is a minimalist’s dream. Their ethos is around natural, cruelty-free skincare – our picks? The Lapis facial oil, designed to fight blemishes and calm irritated skin, and the Blue Tansy resurfacing mask, which works to exfoliate and reveal fresh, glowy skin.

This iconic hand cream is a big deal for a reason – it’s super nourishing, smells amazing, actually works to keep hands soft – and comes in that excellent looking metal squeezy tube. L’Occitane in general do some great packaging – hence why you’ve probably been gifted a few of their products in your lifetime. Everything looks like it’s come from a provincial French village boutique, and we’re very much into it.

You’re definitely across the perfect packaging of this niche fragrance brand if you follow even one style influencer on Instagram. Their fragrances are firm favourites in the fashion set because each one is perfectly unique – the kind of scent you wear that has people stopping you in the street, for real. All the bottles are short, round, with the signature black domed lid and plain text across the front. Last year, they even released a blank fragrance with no label, that you were meant to custom-design yourself. Genius.

A post shared by LUMIRA (@atelierlumira) on

Lumira is the poster brand for those “people who hate candles but secretly want to love them” types. With scents like Arabian Oud, Cuban Tobacco and Leather & Cedar, it’s easy to see why. Lumira goes for rich, spicy and multi-layered home fragrance – a far cry from those standard vanilla or “floral” kinds candle-haters are used to. Basically – you want your home to smell like some rich persons place? You get a Lumira candle. Oh, and since we’re talking about aesthetics – how perfect is that sleek jar with the matte-black labelling? LUSH.
The Touche Eclat is one of those cult beauty products everyone goes on about – it remains as one of the top ranked concealers, even in this age of beauty vloggers and intense focus on product innovation. It’s creamy, illuminating coverage is the stuff of dark-circled girls dreams – seriously, have a Google and you’ll find a slew of celebs and makeup artists singing it’s praises. The gold packaging has remained the same since it’s inception, changing only slightly for limited edition releases – the current of which celebrates it’s 25th birthday, and is covered in little black stars.
