Aussie legend Jarryd Hayne went unused in the first half of the San Francisco 49ers third pre-season game against the Denver Broncos today, though it remains likely he will score a place on the team’s roster.
A video has recently emerged of last weekend’s second pre-season game against the Dallas Cowboys, showing his team mates’ reactions to his performance on the field, and it’s pretty great stuff.
Nose tackle Ian Williams can be heard yelling “Okay, J! Okay!” when Hayne returns a pair of punts, while a nearby player enthusiastically chimes in “that boy can run!”
The 49ers final roster will be announced next weekend, following their final pre-season game against San Diego. The team will then face Minnesota in September 14th’s season-opening game.
