In honour of the outgoing team who posted three honourable losses from three attempts in the toughest group in the tournament, here’s to our favourite Socceroos moments, chief among them two incidents from our scintillating 3-2 defeat against The Netherlands.
1) Tim Cahill’s wonder volley.
2) This delightful exchange between Socceroos forward Matthew Leckie and Dutch centre back Ron Vlaar.
The night Ron Vlaar’s car got keyed.
To be completely fair, those familiar with the whingey nature of football/capable of reading lips would suggest Leckie is actually saying “fouled” here, but let’s not let “the truth” get in the way of the most ‘Strayan GIF on the internet.
