Sadly, We’ll Probably Be Seeing More Of Brian Taylor Next Year

The AFL’s most grating human windbag – the wildly unimaginative, error-prone and “accidentally” homophobic Brian Taylor – has parted ways with 3AW radio after five years as its lead AFL caller. That’s the good news for 3AW listeners. The bad news for everyone else: he’s focusing on his TV career.

Boy oh boy, where’s the mute button?

“Brian and I sat down over a month ago and we agreed that BT would focus on his TV career and that 3AW would move forward in 2015 without his involvement. I want to thank Brian for his passion and determination over the past five years, following in the footsteps of other great 3AW callers in Rex Hunt and Harry Beitzel,” said Shane Healy, the station’s general manager. “I wish Brian all the best with his TV career and I look forward to announcing 3AW’s 2015 line-up in the near future.”

Taylor, who currently leads Seven’s Saturday night coverage with such ineptitude that to compare him to the primetime Friday night dream team of Dennis Cometti and Bruce McAvaney is like saying Vanilla Ice could have been the tenth member of the Wu-Tang Clan, is rumoured to be joining rival station Triple M and taking on an expanded role at Seven.

God help us all.
