Nick Kyrgios, ever the raconteur, has taken his recent defeat at the hands of Roger Federer in stride, blaming the loss on the fact that he was distracted by a “hot chick” in the crowd.
The pair met on day two of the Laver Cup in Geneva, Switzerland, where Federer is representing Team Europe and Kyrgios is playing for Team World.
After a tough match that ended in a tie breaker, Federer ultimately triumphed 6-7 (5), 7-5, 10-7 , but the Aussie raised eyebrows during the second set when he went to his chair and told teammates:
“I lost concentration, I saw a really hot chick in the crowd. Like, I’m being genuinely honest. I’d marry her right now. Right now.”
There’s also video evidence of the moment:
“I lost concentration, I saw a really hot chick in the crowd. Like, I’m being jarringly honest — I’d marry her right now. Right now.”

Nick Kyrgios later won a doubles match 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 with the help of teammate Jack Sock, leaving Team World on five points and Team Europe on seven ahead of the final matches.
Several weeks back, the 24-year-old blamed Call Of Duty for a straight-sets loss to Russia‘s Andrey Rublev at the US Open.
He complained of problems with his eyesight, saying he was unable to see the ball at times, and in his box, was overheard saying: “Gaming, bro. Call of Duty has ruined me.”
