Jarryd Hayne Addresses Pesky Rumours He’s Returning To The NRL

After weeks of speculation that Jarryd Hayne might return to the NRL after his demotion to the practice squad at the San Franisco 49ers, the man himself has finally come out and addressed the issue, laughing it off in a recent interview.
Hayne told reporters at Levi’s Stadium that there is absolutely no chance of him returning to Australia with his tail between his legs, and that in spite of interest from Aussie clubs, he remains determined to see his NFL dream through.
The 49ers’ number 38 was blunt in his dismissal of a possible Sydney RoostersPenrith Panthers bidding war for him, saying:
“I mean, if I was going to go back, I wouldn’t have even come, so it’s a stupid question. I guess the media back home obviously are trying to make stories and trying to obviously use my name to make headlines. But it’s just foolish and only fools would believe that. It’s pretty obvious teams would want me back there – you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that. With everything I’ve done, I’m not even sure why it’s still a question. It’s stupid for people to actually believe it.”
Hayne also spoke about being cut from the 49ers, admitting that he still has a lot to learn about the NFL, and making it seem like there are no hard feelings:
“It’s just being more fluent in everything I do. For me, it was good to put everything in perspective. I’ve only been doing this for five to six months, an it’s still new to me … They just want to give me that time to really get it own pat. And for me that’s how I’ve taken it really just fine-tuning more than anything.”
