Here’s How Much Jarryd Hayne Will Be Earning With The San Francisco 49ers

Jarryd Hayne, who used to earn close to $AU 1 million per season when he played with the Parramatta Eels, had to accept a pretty drastic pay cut when he signed a futures contract with the San Francisco 49ers back in March.
Suddenly, the star found himself sharing a hotel room in Santa Clara, along with other hopefuls, pulling in only a token few hundred per week – not exactly enough to bankroll a lavish NFL lifestyle.
Hayne’s hard work and dedication paid off this morning, when he was officially selected as part of the 49ers 53-man squad – he was elated to reveal the news on Twitter, and he’ll probably be equally elated that his weekly pay will be going way, way up.
Now he’s officially on the team, Hayne is on a three-year contract worth a total of $US 1.58 million, which works out to around $US 25,588 per week, for each of the 17 weeks of the NFL season.

At the current exchange rate, that works out to around $AU 37,000 per week for his first season – pretty much bang on what we predicted a few weeks ago. The amount will rise to $US 525,000 in his second year, and $US 615,000 in his third.
Hayne can expect to pull in that weekly salary as long as he remains on the team, but even in the unlikely event that that he’s cut, he’ll walk away with a guaranteed $US 115,000.
Given his increasingly high profile, it’s likely that companies will be lining up to do business with Hayne, meaning that he’s in a position to earn much, much more via endorsement deals.
When asked what was next for him, he replied in the most laid-back, ‘Strayan way possible: “I turn up to training on Monday and start getting paid. Start getting paid some real money, which is pretty good.”
Yes, mate, $37 thousand Australian dollars a week ain’t bloody bad, no matter how you slice it. Well done, Jarryd.
