Tinder Revealed The Aussie Names Most Likely To Cop A Right-Swipe In 2018

Personality, style, grooming, professional achievement, and good old fashioned confidence: these are the traditional markers of romantic success, and areas that a great many of us work on in the hopes of meeting that special someone.

That’s all well and good, but a new report from the folks at Tinder suggests folks with a specific batch of names are significantly more likely to be swiped upon than the rest of us. Self-improvement be damned.

According to the boffins at the dating app, fellas names Oli received a higher number of right-swipes than any of their non-Oli brethren in the past 12 months. Similarly, women named Liv are reportedly more likely to find their match on the app than those with other names.

So, to all of you Olivers, Oliviers, Olivias, Olives, and other derivatives, congratulations. Your parents did good, and if you chose your own name, you did a pretty decent job, too.

Note: Oliver was the most popular name for male babies born in NSW last year, while Olivia was #2 for baby girls. Make of that what you will.

Here are the other names Tinder says are big winners for men:

Oli
Lachie
Hunter
Harrison
Hugo
Campbell
Fraser
Jonah
Antoine
Cal

And for women:

Liv
Bronte
Paris
India
Demi
Izzy
Abbie
Britt
Gabriella
Shenae

Those stats come a couple of months after Tinder revealed that lifeguards and paramedics were the most desirable professions on the platform. That said, if you’re a lawyer named Hugo or a marketing executive named Izzy, you’re probably doing alright, too.
