Mardi Gras Has Partnered With Tinder For A Float & We Gliterally Can’t Even

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras turns 40 this year.

That’s forty fabulous years of celebrating fun, frivolity and freedom Down Under.

It’s looking like it could be the most momentous Mardi Gras of all time, considering marriage equality was legalised earlier this year (God it feels good typing that). Oh, and did we mention Cher is performing? If the stars were any more aligned we would be alight.

If you find yourself at the Mardi Gras this year, single and ready to mingle, you’ll be stoked to hear Tinder have partnered with the festival to help you find a m8 to scream-sing to Strong Enough with.

Tinder is going completely rainbow for the event’s 40th anniversary with a colourful float in the Mardi Gras parade. The app will also host an interactive space on Fair Day to help experienced swipers and curious newbies get the most out of their Tinder experience, and make meaningful matches throughout the carnival.

“Everyone is welcome on Tinder. Participating in Sydney’s Mardi Gras is one more step towards our commitment to the community around the world—from our recent Pride celebrations in the US, UK, France, Germany and Spain, to many future events and efforts that celebrate diversity,” Jonathan Badeen, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Tinder, said in a statement.

Mardi Gras CEO, Terese Casu, added:

We are very pleased to welcome Tinder to partner with us at our 40th Anniversary Festival. We look forward to celebrating love with them as they continue to show their support for the LGBTQI+ community.

Get your glitter appliques and Swarovski‘d short shorts ready folks, ‘cos this is one Mardi Gras you won’t wanna miss.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras runs from 16 February 2018 to the iconic parade on Saturday 3 March 2018.
