Yep, Nathan Fillion Is Playing Nathan Drake In An ‘Uncharted’ Short Film

After hinting some kind of Uncharted-related project via Instagram, it turns out actor Nathan Fillion was indeed referring to starring as main character Nathan Drake, only in a short film rather than a full-length one.

The action-packed feature clocks in at just under 15 minutes and even features a live-action Sully (Stephen Lang) and Elena (Mircea Monroe) who play their parts relatively well. While I was sceptical about the idea of Fillion playing Drake in a film, I must admit, it wasn’t bad at all.

This is by no means an official piece of work, however. Even though Sony has been trying desperately to make an Uncharted film for years, this is simply a passion project by the cast and director, Allan Ungar, who has worked on two films, Gridlocked and Tapped Out.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do, but more importantly, something I’ve wanted to see for a long time,” Fillion said on an Instagram post. “If you’ve ever pinned a towel around your neck for a cape, or donned a fedora and nearly put your eye out with a homemade whip, this is for you. Thank you, [Allan Ungar], for letting us all scratch this itch.”

As far as the Naughty Dog-endorsed feature film goes, it’s now in the works with director Shawn Levy and is set to be a prequel starring Tom Holland as a young Drake. Details on that are still fairly scarce at this stage, but here’s hoping the hurry it along a little.

Until then, you can check out Fillion as Drake in the clip below.
