Earlier this week it was revealed that actor Nathan Fillion starred in a short film based on the Uncharted games in which he played main character, Nathan Drake. While fans have been showering the unofficial work with praise, many wondered what the game’s studio, Naughty Dog, thought of it.

As it turns out, they bloody love it, with one of the game’s creators, Amy Hennig, tweeting her love for the project to film director, Allan Ungar.
You guys did a fantastic job, Allan! Warms these old cockles to see our baby brought to life like this. Never could’ve imagined it, when we set off on this journey 13+ years ago. Thank you! ❤️

“Amy Hennig, who I guess created the characters, she tweeted me,” Ungar said during a ComiCon panel. “And she thought it was fantastic. It warmed her heart to see this 13 years later. Said ‘our baby,’ something like that.”
Ungar continued to say that the bloke who’s now running Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, also praised the short film. “When you get their support and their praise it means a lot,” the director said.
Clocking in at just under 15 minutes in length, the short even features a live-action Sully (Stephen Lang) and Elena (Mircea Monroe). While Fillion won’t be involved in the upcoming feature film directed by Shawn Levy, he’s stoked that he was able to play Drake – something fans have been crying out for for yonks – in some capacity.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do, but more importantly, something I’ve wanted to see for a long time,” he said in an Instagram post. “If you’ve ever pinned a towel around your neck for a cape, or donned a fedora and nearly put your eye out with a homemade whip, this is for you.
You can suss out the fan film below. If you ask me, it’s pretty decent.
