Coming-of-age films and films about music go hand-in-hand about as well as any two genres in the cinematic oeuvre (*adjusts bow-tie*).
So it should come as no surprise to any of you that the trailer for Netflix‘s newest original movie ‘XOXO‘ actually looks pretty decent indeed.
The EDM-focused film centres around “six strangers” who all attend a massive EDM festival known as XOXO. And if you think those six strangers are going to coast through the film without once interacting with each other, you can bloody well forgetaboutit.
The ensemble cast of young unknowns and “Hey! I remember that guy!” types features names you might not recognise, like Graham Phillips, Brett DeBuono, or Colin Woodell, and some you might like Ryan Hansen (‘Veronica Mars‘! ‘Party Down‘!), Sarah Hyland (‘Modern Family‘!), Chris D’Elia (comedian!) or Ione Skye (MOTHERFUCKING ‘SAY ANYTHING…‘!).
The trailer, which dropped today, is full of colour and hope and promise and sure it looks a little dorky but be damned if your heart ain’t gonna be warmed by the end of it.
‘XOXO‘ hits Netflix on August 26th.
