WATCH: Pauline Hanson Giddily Proposes Burqa Ban In QLD State Buildings

Banning the burqa is religious discrimination.
Whatever the justification, a push to ban the garment is rooted in the idea of persecuting Muslim women, and by and large the discourse around the issue unjustly conflates the (relatively tiny) number of people choosing to wear the burqa with terrorism.
With that in mind, you’ll never guess who’s advocating for the seemingly-unconsitutional ban now.
Speaking to Sky News about her invite to Donald Trump’s inauguration and MP Steve Dickson’s decision to ditch the LNP for One Nation, Senator and noted racist Pauline Hanson let slip, with a terrifying level of giddiness, what she plans to do if her party wins enough seats at the upcoming Queensland state election:
“You know what I’m going to do, going to investigate? Ban the burqa in government buildings, banks and schools.”

“We’re going to lead the way in Queensland.”

Now, Hanson has here conflated the phrase “leading the way” with “target already-persecuted minorities and entrench Islamophobia”. Particularly galling is her idea of cracking down on Muslim children through that school ban, who have clearly had it too good for too long.

Give the happily racist clip a squiz below.
