Whilst Australian politics in 2017 has been an endless and cringe-worthy shit-fight (as per usual), our mates across the ditch have had a fairly chull year, with the most notable event the election of their youngest ever Prime Minister in Jacinda Ardern.
From all reports the new Kiwi PM and leader of the Labour party seems like a supremely cool person, with a relatable sense of humour, down-to-earth demeanour and a side hustle as a god damn DJ. She appears especially dope considering her Australian counter-part is this bloke, who has all the charisma of a wet sock dangling on a piece of string:

Because New Zealand is an adorable fantasy land where dreams come true, they’re currently holding a nation-wide secret santa (easily achievable because there’s only about 60 people that live there) and of bloody course Ardern is involved, recently receiving a gift from a random NZ citizen.
Although the gift she’s received is a secondary secret santa (her OG one hasn’t arrived yet), Ardern recorded herself opening it live on camera and the resulting footage is so dang joyous it makes me want to immediately start breast-stroking across the Tasman to see if they’ll have me as one of their own.
