In a pretty clear sign that we are living in the future, a man has undergone the United States‘ first ever penis transplant, getting a *cough* organ *cough* from a deceased donor attached to his body by some miracle-working surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The procedure took a cool 15 hours and it’s expected he’ll be able to take a regular piss through the latest addition to his bod within a few weeks. He should see his sexy, adult function should restored in somewhere between weeks and months.
The 64-year-old Thomas Manning got the replacement after losing most of his penis in a battle with penile cancer.
While it is a US first, an operation of its kind was performed in 2014 in South Africa on a man who had to have his entire dick amputated because of complications in a teenage circumcision. The operation was a complete success, with the dude eventually regaining all of his junk function.
In 2005 a penis transplant was performed in China but the penis was removed again two weeks later due to psychological issues he and his wife were experiencing, possibly something to do with the reality of boning down with a dead man’s penis.
