Two ‘Wolf Creek’ Pop-Up Bars Will Bring New Meaning To Getting ‘Legless’

Bless the good people at Stan, they’re not afraid of a wild marketing stunt.

The Australian streaming company – a joint venture of Nine and Fairfax – is prepping to launch its biggest original series to date in the TV adaptation of Wolf Creek.
The show, a six-episode series that delves back into the demented outback world of John Jarrett‘s now-iconic serial killer character Mick Taylor, is set to premiere all-at-once on May 12th.
And in the lead-up to the release, Stan is going straight-bespoke in launching a pair of Wolf Creek-themed pop-up bars in both Melbourne and Sydney, because we all know the best accompaniment to an ice cold froth is the EVER-PRESENT THREAT OF MURDER.

The pop-ups will recreate the rugged, rough, outback feel of the Wolf Creek Road House pub featured heavily in the new series. Mad-awesome brewers Two Birds have concocted a special “Mick’s Bitter” just for the events, which will be served at “outback prices.” Read into that what you will.
Beyond mere shed-loads of piss, however, will be a “outback” menu (*crosses fingers forever* PLEAAAAAAASE serve Bloomin’ Onions), as well as Mick’s signature F100 truck and a Wolf Creek-themed photo wall.
The bars will also serve as the location for the series’ launch parties, which will go down on May 5th in Melbourne, and May 11th in Sydney.
Keen to wet your beak in a locale frequented by a fictional psychopathic serial killer? The Melbourne one goes down from May 5 until the 8th in Federation Square, whilst Sydney’s turn comes a week late from May 11 – 14 at the Martin Place Amphitheatre.
Really though, if you’re drinking in a place called the Road House and you’re not Peter Griffin-ing out the words “road house” after every sip, then that’s an opportunity wasted.
