Tinder Will Soon Feature Verified Profiles For Horny Celebrities

If you’ve ever swiped through Tinder and come across a profile picture of a celebrity, there’s a fairly good chance that the person behind it is either taking the piss, attempting to catfish you, or participating in some kind of viral marketing campaign.*

When you think about it, though, that’s actually pretty unfair to horny famous people – they may be out there swiping right now, but how the hell will anyone believe that they are who they say they are?
Tinder have just come up with the solution to this very specific problem by rolling out Verified Profiles. From their blog:
Starting today, you may see a verified symbol on some profiles. Now when notable public figures, celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you’ll know it’s for real.
So, um … there you have it? We eagerly await news of the first famous person who actually gets verified to see where this madness takes us. Mariah Carey‘s taken but we hear Kourtney Kardashian just became available?
If you yourself are a celebrity who wants to get in on that action, Tinder say that Verified Profiles will be reviewed on a “case-by-case basis” and that a “limited number” will be considered to start with, with others adding to a waiting list.
If you think you’re famous enough, then you can email verified@tinder.com to give it a crack.
* Unless it’s Shane Warne – if you’ve ever seen the cricket legend pop up then there’s a pretty good chance it’s definitely, actually him.
