This Is The Most Commented Post On Facebook

In news that will make online marketing gurus want to wear sad graphic tees under their blazers tomorrow, players of the resource management game Frontierville broke a Guinness World Record Tuesday after this Facebook post gained more than one million comments.

The original post was made on October 30, 2011 by UK user Tracy Hodgson and has since received more than 1,001,600 comments, almost double that of the previous record set by Italy’s Roberto Esposito last year.

The monumental waste of time was achieved by 107 commenters, though Guinness notes that a core group of four shouldered the majority of the work.

“I began to play myself, and then got involved in helping with the game’s community groups as an administrator,” Hudson told Guinness. “My friend Nattie Murphy saw the previous record and suggested I try to break it – it sounded like a great idea for our group to show what we are capable of when we work together”.

For those playing at home, the record-breaking comment stated: “hi all!!! , hope everyone is ok today , this is ‘the one’, please talk about anything you like here, whatever you want to talk about, change topic whenever you like also, just have fun , . so how are you all today?( please someone speak quick or i’ll have no nails left!!!) 😉 x x x.”

It is not yet known how many emoticons were sacrificed during the making of this record.
