The Gang From ‘Mythbusters’ Are Reuniting To Blow Shit Up For Netflix

If you’ve been feeling a curious explosion-less void in your mighty chests as of late, ever since ‘MythBusters‘ officially aired its final episode back in March, you won’t have to wait very long to fill it with wanton destruction in the name of science once again.

The highly beloved Build Team from the series, the M7 trio of Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara are getting the old band back together for a new series on Netflix that’ll see them once again test the tensile strength of just about any contraption they can cook up.
The trio, who left the OG Discovery Channel at the end of the 2014 season after contract negotiations broke down, confirmed they would be gracing the hallowed halls of the online streaming behemoth for a new series, ‘The White Rabbit Project,’ which has been filming throughout the course of the year.

The series, according to Deadline, sounds reasonably similar in concept to ‘MythBusters,’ though it is not a direct or official spin-off of the show.

“The three head down the rabbit hole to investigate weird and wonderful events from pop culture, science and history. Under their microscope are topics as diverse as jailbreaks, superpower technology, heists and crazy world war two weapons. In each episode the hosts immerse themselves in experiments, builds and tests as they sleuth the truth behind these and other well googled themes.”

Byron was at pains to point out that there will be no “busting of myths” in this new series, presumably because that’s a trademarked term and as such they’ll have to come up with an entirely different catchy phrase to label any large-scale science experiments that operate on a pass/fail basis.

The series has been shooting throughout the warmer American months, and is scheduled to hit Netflix screens on December 9th.

Prepare for the abject murder of another ballistics gel dummy, you guys. It’s goin’ down.
