What an emotional rollercoaster this has been, friends. A moment more breathtaking that the ‘makeover episode’ of Australia’s Next Top Model: the unveiling of the extremely wooly sheep that was found in Canberra yesterday, who has been named ‘Chris’.

WHAT A TRANSFORMATION! He looks so much more comfy. He’s even pondering off into the distance, wondering why on earth it’s so bloody chilly all of a sudden. Because, young Christopher, you had a whopping ~40.45kg~ of wool on you.
The official number is in (minus 2kg for the bag)! pic.twitter.com/l69eQlW3NV

That’s a lot of heavy lifting, Chris! According to the legend who volunteered to tackle the risky de-fleecing, four-time Australian Shearing Champion Ian Elkins, the average fleece of 12 months usually weighs about 5kg, and only takes a few minutes to shear. But Elkins estimates that old mate Chris hadn’t been shorn in approximately 5 years, and so it took he and a team of shearers 42 minutes to complete.
Chris was all chill though; they gave him a mild sedative, and he was very relaxed throughout the process. And now, he was a schmick new ‘do, and all the lady sheep are clearly gonna be flocking to get a piece of that.
