Australian Sheep, Models and Designers Woolcome HRH The Prince of Wales

The Patron Saint of the global Campaign for Wool, HRH The Prince of Wales and his lanolin-loving lady friend The Duchess of Cornwall recently attended an event at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Arts during which they got within spitting distance of adorable pre-slaughter lambs, and cozied up to some unenviably wool-clad models and Australia’s fashion royalty, including Akira Isogawa, Josh Goot, Camilla & Marc, Dion Lee and Kym Ellery.

From all reports it was a very normal event and a great day for the Wool Council. There was no hijinx and no farce in a manner consistent with the values of the industry – wool, not antiquated monarchy! – and guests talked about normal things, like golf, blouses, the health benefits of weekly sittings and its wide acceptance in Eastern cultures.

The Prince wore a suit made of Australian wool and tailored by Saville Row masters Anderson & Sheppard. He accessorised with a Remembrance Day poppy and the burden of the entire British empire. It was all very wool.
