Sydney Harbour Has Been Swallowed By Fog, Impacting Ferries And Flights

A thick layer of fog has sparked commuter frustration (and ethereal Instagram posts) in Sydney this morning, with limited visibility impacting ferry services, and flights to and from Sydney Airport.

The dense haze, which has done a number on Sydney Harbour, caused the cancellation of several ferry services.

At time of writing, all ferry services are back up and running, but only after extremely limited visibility forced commuters to seek alternative travel arrangements.

Elsewhere, Qantas confirmed to News.com.au that the fog had impacted some its services from Sydney Airport. Virgin Australia flights haven’t been spared either, with at least eight services reportedly delayed.

Travellers have been advised to check in with their airline regarding specific flight delays and cancellations.

The fog is thought to have been kicked up after some unseasonably warm winter temperatures in the city.

The Bureau Of Meteorology advises that the haze is expected to lift later on today, with a projected maximum temperature of 23 or 24 degrees.
