Sydney, Break Out The Jorts: We’ve Got 3 Days Of 30C Heat Starting Tomorrow

Sydney, we’re fucked. We’re halfway through autumn, but the Bureau of Meteorology are predicting prime summer temperatures across Sydney and most of NSW for the next three days.

Tomorrow and Friday, Sydneysiders can expect highs of 31c, while Saturday calms it down a touch to reach highs of 30c.

Thursday’s going to be hella hot in spots across regional NSW too. Hay, Penrith and Bega will all reach at least 34C, but Wilcannia in the Central Darling Shire takes out top ‘honours’ with a projected high of 37C.

We’re not going to pretend that 30C days in April are something to celebrate. On Monday, Sydney had its hottest April day on record when temperatures hit 35.4c at Observatory Hill, overlooking the Harbour Bridge. It’s almost as if the climate was irrevocably changing in an alarmingly rapid rate.

FYI, the BOM reckons the weather will chill on Saturday, with rain expected in the arvo, followed by a cathartic thunderstorm.
