Double Down On The Deo, Australia: The Long Weekend Will Feat. 30C+ Temps

PSA, CC: all states and territories – do you even know what day it is?

ACT, NSW, QLD and SA – there is but one day standing between you and your Labour Day long weekend.
VIC – your AFL Grand Final long weekend kicks off tomorrow.
And, WA, NT and TAS – don’t worry, it’s just Thursday. Soz.
For those enjoying the spoils of a long weekend this weekend, the weather god Tim Bailey has delivered us a treat: temps upwards of 30C; 35C in some parts.
Hotter than hell will be Sydney, showing off with four consecutive days of sweaty weather.
According to overly optimistic app, Apple Weather, we’re set for mercury readings above 30C, starting Saturday right through Monday.
Australia‘s official weather forecaster, the government’s Bureau of Meteorology is keeping its predictions slightly more understated, reporting a max of 28C on Saturday, and 30C on Sunday and Monday.
The weather, which is ordinarily inconsistent and doesn’t know what it’s doing, deserves to be applauded when it outperforms like this.
Though, the bloody hot weather is cause for concern since last we checked, summer is still two months way and the October maximum average temp is 22.1C.
*CLIMATE CHANGE*
*GLOBAL WARMING*
We did this to ourselves.
Sky News has reported that we’ll be seeing potentially the strongest El Nino on record, bringing in hotter weather and less clouds:

“Another hot severe weather season is ahead for Australia with a maximum temperatures from October to April likely to be above average across most of the northern and eastern parts of the country along with the west coast. The driving force behind the forecast is well established El Nino conditions…”
Here’s the forecast for the rest of you long weekenders:
