Be The MVP Of Summer By Learning How To Crack A Beer With Household Items

Let me set the scene for you. It’s summer, and you’re ready to knock the froth off a couple of cold suckers with ya mates. Somehow you’ve also entered the darkest timeline and all the beers are pop tops…and nobody has a bottle opener.

Never fear, my good friends, because there’s a whole bunch of stuff lying around the house that you can use to literally crack open a cold one here in this worst-case scenario where you are up the creek without a churchkey.

You can line the top of your bottle up with any hard surface (but not wood, don’t damage ya nan’s good coffee table) with the lip of the lid resting on the table and the rest of the bottle beside it. Smack the top of the bottle and lid with your free hand until the lid pops off and you can suck the froth outta that bad boy.

If one of you is wearing a ring, you can absolutely use that to pry the top off a cold one. Pop the ring on and put your hand palm-down on top of the bottle, hooking your ring under the lip of the lid. Work the lid off with your hand by flicking your wrist back and pushing the heel of your palm toward the bottle. It might take a couple of goes to get good leverage, but at least you’ll get a delicious cold one for your efforts.
