Those lucky Melbourne SOBs have just copped Australia‘s first (but hopefully not last) drive-through container café dedicated to our lord and saviour, the toastie.
Housed in a shipping container on High St in Preston, Cheese and Bread operates on the simple philosophy that breakfast is better when it’s easy to obtain and delicious, hence why the humble cheese toastie + drive-thru is the perfect foundation for a hawt new foodie destination.

There are a total of 6 nom-nom toasties on menu, each one gifted a glorious name with roots in pop culture.
There’s the Mario & Luigi (pesto, roma and house blend cheese), the Lenny & Carl (macaroni, béchamel sauce and house blend cheese), the Tom & Jerry (house blend cheese) and the Bert & Ernie (roast beef, caramelised onions, spinach and house blend cheese).
Cheese and Bread specialise in savoury toasties, but there’s one dessert option: the Winnie & Tigger, which is essentially healthy lashings of Nutella with sprinkles and, of course, cheese.
LOOK AT IT BEING CUT OPEN JESUS HOLD US.
There’s also a small outdoor dining area to the side of the food truck if you feel like stretching your legs, plus gourmet coffee on offer.
