Stacey Dash Slams Leo DiCaprio’s Climate Change Oscars Acceptance Speech

Oh man. We were all very confused when Stacey Dash had her very awkward and strange cameo at the Academy Awards late last month. (No one was more confused than Chrissy Teigen, though.)

But now it seems that Dash – who is most famously known for playing Dionne in Clueless and then dropping out of the acting industry and turning politically batshit insane – has far more to say about the Oscars.
Anyone with half a brain was impressed by Leonardo DiCaprio dedicating his much-deserved and highly-anticipated ‘Best Actor‘ Oscar acceptance speech almost solely to raising awareness about climate change. Not Dash, apparently.
She has posted a lengthy blog post about Leo’s speech, saying that it was ‘too much’ and calling him Chicken Little: “The sky is not falling.”

“He reminds me of Chicken Little, the bird who ran around the neighborhood and disturbed everyone ‘with her foolish alarm.’”
She attempts to prove that Leo ‘should have double checked his facts’ by quoting a range of climate change-denying blogs who regularly use the ‘BUT THERE WASN’T EVEN ANY CARS WHEN CLIMATE CHANGE WAS HAPPENING IN THE 17TH CENTURY SO PEOPLE AREN’T THE CAUSE’ line of reasoning, like climate change is somehow solely caused by us driving instead of taking the bus.
And also pulls the, ‘people are starving, there’s more important issues than this’ – like people can’t care about more than one issue at a time, and also, the end of human civilisation caused by Mother Nature literally genociding us because we fucked with her too badly, is a pretty big deal.
Dash has been sharing the shit out of it via social media (it’s only had 24 retweets at time of writing), and unsurprisingly, it hasn’t exactly received the nicest responses:

Look, this article isn’t the place for us to explain why science has proven time and time again that climate change is very real. When in doubt, trust NASA – read HERE
