Shorten Drops “Homophobe” On Bernardi In Supa Hot Fire Presser Sledge

Excuse us for one second while we laugh at the churlish playground our landscape of federal politics has become.

Right, now that’s done, y’all should know that Senator Cory Bernadi – the toerag behind this anti-Safe Schools Coalition movement – took part in a lil’ drive-by sledging this morning.

Passing Opposition Leader Bill Shorten holding a press conference at Parliament House, who was mid-sentence giving his thoughts on the movement (“We see this ridiculous, absurd obsession by the right wing of the Liberal Party about Safe Schools“), Bernardi couldn’t help but quip: “That’s be me. At least I’m honest, Bill. You’re a fraud.”

To which Shorten replied:

“No, mate. At least I’m not a homophobe.”

SHORTEN COMING IN FOR THE KILL.

Who knew it? Who bloody knew he had it in him?

Here’s that beautiful #auspol moment, forever immortalised on Twitter:

It just gets better with each viewing, doesn’t it?
