Malcolm Turnbull Issues Language Warning To MPs Over Safe Schools Debate

Since the beginning of the debate over “reviewing” the Safe Schools Coalition LGBT program, a number of shitty, disgusting, fucked up, demonising, factually incorrect let’s say controversial comments have been made by Coalition MPs.

This includes Cory Bernardi‘s grossly inaccurate ~hot take~ that the LGBT program ‘indoctrinates children to the Marxist agenda of cultural relativity’ – which is a fancy, whiny way of saying ‘ugh, the PC liberal lefty idiots are warping kids minds into being gay’. *bashes head against wall repeatedly*
Headlines were made after Labor leader Bill Shorten spontaneously called Bernardi ‘a homophobe’ on camera. And if Shorten’s making on pointe calls and being the ballsy one in a conversation, you know you are straight up failing and should probably quit politics.
But, the MP who has somehow managed to edge Bernardi out of the ‘#1 Cuntiest Cunt Award’ is George Christensen. Last night on Twitter, this bloke legitimately compared a helpful LGBT anti-discrimination program to paedophiles ‘grooming’ children. And if that doesn’t make you blood boil and your inner-most hatred rise up with the fire of a thousand suns, then hell, you must be as perpetually cool as a bloody G&T with mint + cucumber.
There’s been heavy calls for apologies, for Christensen to be fired, and one or two people who would like him booted off the planet now please thanks. But when asked about the consequences for Christensen’s offensive comments today, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull dodged the direct question, and instead broadly said that all backbenchers best be minding their manners
“I encourage everybody who is discussing these issues to do so in very measured language.

And to consider very carefully the impact of the words they use on young people and on their families.”
Too bloody right – Waleed Aly said last night on The Project that since this debate about the Safe Schools review has started, their services have been more in demand than ever. Kids who need the service feel threatened, and are panicking that it would no longer be there.
How about we try not to make comments and actions that further hurt and hinder children who are already marginalised? Yeah? Okay, good one.
p.s. We regrettably retract calling Cory Bernardi and George Christensen ‘cuntiest cunts’. This was a factually incorrect statement: neither have the warmth or depth.
