You might have some ideas in your head about who the most followed person on Instagram is. You might think it’s Kim Kardashian. You might think it’s Taylor Swift. You might even think it’s Justin Bieber. These would all be reasonable beliefs.
But they would all be wrong. So wrong.
Selena unseated her BFF Taylor Swift at some point over the past few days in what we assume to be a bloodless coup. She now has 69.3 million, compared to Swift’s 69.1 million and Bieber’s frankly embarrassing 61.5 million. Shame on you, Justin. Log off and delete your account.
Several people have worn the crown recently, including Swift, Kardashian and Beyoncé. Swift held it for several months until now.
Gomez announced her incredible rise to power via Snapchat, which is just a brazen act of bravado, proving you don’t even need the platform you have thoroughly dominated to announce said domination.
That’s right, Selena. Weep. The power is now yours.
