One of Australia’s foremost offerings to the world is the humble “business up front, party at the back” hairstyle that is the glorious mullet.
I don’t care if we didn’t invent the most bogan of hairstyles or not, we inarguably mastered it over decades of proud men and women letting it loose in the neck region.
And if anything deserves to be celebrated in this big brown country of ours, it’s the mullet, which is probably why this Mullet Festival set to go down in QLD’s Redcliffe skatepark on Friday is going so boonta on Facebook right now.
Originally organised be a bloke called Jay, the FB event for MullFest, which promises to keep it “all about the mullets” for a “a bogan day out” now has nearly 3000 attendees and 7000 “interested” possible participants.

If you got a filthy peice of mullet on the back of your head. Rock up. Drink up. And make sure that mullet is flaring. At the end of the day they will be an award for most disgusting, but beautiful mullet. And a prize of a 50 deck of winnie blues + and a 6 pack of your choice.
