Ordering Pizza Just Got Even Lazier Thanks To Facebook

Because opening a new tab in your internet browser is hard, picking up the phone is harder, going out for dinner is just the worst and cooking your own dinner is an unthinkable travesty (and I’m really sorry for even bringing it up), Dominos – the ones with the hots for what’s in your box? – have launched a dedicated app on their Australian and New Zealand Facebook pages offering customers the option of Facebook ordering, including a live pizza tracker that lets you track “the pizza making process.”

“More than 567,000 Australians have connected with us through Facebook and our new ordering app brings them a more engaging and social ordering experience,” Online marketing director Michael Gillespie said.

“Our Facebook ordering gives pizza lovers the chance to order from their local store quickly, ‘like’ their favourite pizzas and share both experiences with their friends on Facebook easily all without leaving the social media environment.”

All without leaving the social media environment? When did that become a good thing? Feedback so far on Domino’s Facebook page appears to be less than satisfied, with the app not working, their houses not registering as valid locations, or with Dominos pizza just being shit. If Instagram wasn’t already bad enough with its second rate food porn, and those amateurish attempts at scrambled eggs clogging your newsfeed didn’t already make you want to barf, then it’s safe to say things are about to get a whole lot worse. You know what they say though, you don’t get to 568,769 likes without making a few enemies. Someone alert Cook Suck.
