Nintendo App ‘Miitomo’ Hits #1 On US App Store In A Day, Is Fkn Amazing

Nintendo have bloody finally put down their console-only barriers and stormed onto app stores worldwide with their first smartphone app, Miitomo

ICYMI, Miitomo is an adorably Nintendo-ish social networking app, where you can chat to and learn about your mates via your Mii
You create your Mii by taking a photo of yourself so it looks just like you, and then you answer questions from the game which your friends can see. You play little games, earn currency, and converse with your adorable cartoon m8s.
While many are slightly pissed that the game isn’t Mario or Zelda-themed – those games are certainly coming though, chill – Nintendo’s first foray into the world of smartphone is pretty great and very Nintendo.
It’s been available in Australia since yesterday, but in the US it’s completely blasted every other app out the water on App Store charts. It hit #1 within 24 hours, according to market-tracking firm Sensor Tower
According to VentureBeat

“By reaching No. 1 in just a few hours, Sensor Tower estimates that the game could surpass 200,000 downloads on the iPhone alone after 24 hours, since that’s typically what the No. 1 app does on average.”
Completely unsurprising. Look at how cute it is.
D’awwwwww.
