Need A Bush Basher? A QLD Council Is Flogging Off Abandoned Rides On eBay

South East Queensland‘s Southern Downs Regional Council is dealing with the abandoned cars in their area in a way any strapped-for-cash bargain aficionado with an internet connection can get behind: they’re sellin’ ’em on eBay.
The Warwick Daily News reported earlier today that the Council is planning to auction off five abandoned vehicles from their eBay account on February 16.
Said eBay account, which you can put on your Favourite Sellers list here, is no newcomer to the online auctioneering game, dating all the way back to 2005 and sporting an impressive sales history.
Past items for sale include solar panels, skylights, exercise equipment, a portable stage, doors, a dust extractor, and what looks to be an entire office-upgrade’s worth of IT equipment. The solitary piece of negative feedback:
There’s no word yet on the cars’ condition or what the reserve will be, but keep an eye on the account and you could snap up a bargain with a backstory.
Was this 1991 Ford Fairlane used for drug crimes and then dumped by the side of the road by a modern-day Bonnie & Clyde on the run from hardworking outback Queensland coppers, or did someone simply decide that the fuel economy and digital speedometer were simply too much to deal with and wash their hands of it, hitch-hiking towards freedom? The choice is yours, you thrifty genius.
