Melbourne, are you ready to cream yourself? The world’s most delicious competition is coming to your city: the The Gelato World Tour is a real thing [it’s okay to weep] and it is coming to Australia where the most skilled local gelato artisans will go head to head to secure a place in the Grand Finale.
Oddly sensual celebrity chef Guy Grossi has been bestowed with the honorable position of International Exceptional President of the Technical Jury (whaaaa?) and is responsible for selecting 16 gelato artisans that will compete in the third stage of the Gelato World Tour, the first international competition of its kind. Because no one has ever thought of having a traveling gelato championship before. Because people are idiots.
The event happens in Melbourne over the weekend of the 25th-27th October, so you should probably loiter around with an esky in case cold sugary magnificent scraps are up for grabs.

After Melbourne (25th-27th October 2013), the event will move to Dubai for the Middle East region, South America, North America, Asia, and then back to Europe. About 40 artisans will compete at the Grand Finale which will be held in Rimini in September 2014, vying for the title of World’s Best Gelato.
