Bachelorette Demon Jess Glasgow Fined $5K For Being Such A Kent On Angie’s Season

Former Bachelorette contestant and demon councillor of Noosa Jess Glasgow reckons he copped a bad edit on the show and plans to fight a $4,000 fine he received from the state councillor regulator in the aftermath of his godawful TV stint.

In case you missed it, Glasgow was on two episodes of Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette before getting kicked out for being, well, gross. At the time of filming, Glasgow was serving on the Noosa City Council, but took leave to appear on the show.

Following his departure from the show, the Councillor Conduct Tribunal ordered him to pay an additional $1,000 to reimburse them for costs associated with the incident, claiming that he would’ve been sacked if he was still in office.

But in an interview with the ABC, Glasgow said he intends to fight the decision because the show was allegedly “edited majorly” to negatively portray him and yeah sure, I bet.

“They referred to a lot of stuff in that tribunal report that [the show’s producers] actually told me to do,” he said.

“I agree going on that programme was a catastrophic error … on my behalf,” he added. “But moving forward, I don’t hold the office of council anymore … and I really think there’s no evidence to back this up.”

Basically, Glasgow puts it all down to the edit, claiming that it was the show’s producers who made him look the way he did.

“They’re talking about the way that I’m acting on a fictional, edited TV show managed to make drama,” he said.

“It was just me acting a bit childish, you might say — it was never intended to hurt anyone.

“They mashed up a version of me saying, ‘Look, I would have slapped a kiss on her’, definitely.

“Is that a bad thing to say? To say, ‘Look, I like a woman and I think she’s great and I would have kissed her’?”

The Office of the Independent Assessor received a total of 128 complaints from the public regarding Glasgow’s behaviour in the immediate aftermath of the show’s airing.

“His conduct was made worse by the fact he could readily be identified as a councillor for Noosa on a show with international exposure, the Councillor Conduct Tribunal said in a statement on Thursday.

Glasgow continued to work as a councillor following backlash from the show until he ultimately lost his seat last year, despite calls for his resignation.
