NSW Police Investigating Hidden Creepshot Cam Allegedly Left On Sydney Beach

NSW Police are investigating a tourist’s alleged discovery of a fake water bottle containing a hidden camera, which she says was used to secretly film women and children on a south Sydney beach.

9NEWS reports Michelle Montcourt yesterday shared a video of the bottle on Facebook and described the alleged incident at Lady Robinsons Beach in Brighton-Le-Sands.

Montcourt claims she saw a man in his 30s discard the bottle “directly behind” her on Friday, prompting her to pick it up and head to the rubbish bin.

“I saw it and thought to myself, I can’t believe he left his rubbish on the beach,” the Mexican national said.

“So I picked it up to throw it away and noticed there was a hidden camera inside.”

Montcourt said the man fled when he saw her investigating the bottle, which she claims concealed a tiny camera and 32GB memory card behind a doctored label.

The video, re-shared on YouTube, shows the sophistication of the apparent hidden camera set-up.

Separately, images shared by Montcourt include a folder containing dozens of video files. She claimed to have found footage of herself on the memory card, along with videos showing a number of other beachgoers.

NSW Police confirmed to 9NEWS that officers from St George Police Station have obtained the camera. Authorities are expected to release an update on the matter later today.
