As per annual tradition, Ben & Jerry‘s will be throwing its Free Cone Day on April 12th from 1PM to 9PM. All you’ve got to do to score yourself some offensively tasty, swirl / chunk infused goodness is hit up one of Ben & Jerry’s Australian scoop shops (all participating scoop shops nation-wide listed below for yo’ convince) and pick your flavour.
Actually, picking the flavour is going to be the hardest part of the whole process. Those who consider themselves indecisive should employ the buddy system, hold the hand of their partner, and ask them for help if the whole situation becomes too overwhelming.
BTW: Y’all can line up as many times as you want. Yep, we ain’t lying – and it won’t cost you a cent.

While you’re counting down the hours until Free Cone Day, we thought we’d give ya a lil’ insight into the occasion’s history. Back in 1979, Ben & Jerry’s celebrated its first ever Free Cone Day from its renovated petrol station location in Burlington, Vermont to say thank you to its fans. By ’93, every American store now honoured this pastime, and venues in Canada began to join the mix.
Scandal rocked the small city of Perth in 2012 as two people were caught trying to cut the line (ice cream can make you do horrible, horrible things, kids). After the situation was diffused, the two culprits apologised and high-fived everyone on their way to the back of the line.
All this built up to last year when Ben & Jerry’s ticked over the one million scoop mark world-wide.
