A Celebration Of The Greatest TV Couples To Ever Share A Smewch On Our Screens

Aside from our parents, the very first example of love that we see before experiencing it ourselves is via TV couples.

We watch them meet one another, work through their sexual tension, ultimately get together and experience the highs and lows of a relationship, all the while teaching us that although there’s a lot of BS that comes with that crazy little thing called love, sometimes it can go alright, too.

With Valentine’s Day, AKA the big Hallmark holiday, just a few days out, we’re celebrating the greatest television couples via Stan who gave us a reason to love love.

Leo & Piper (Charmed)

While Phoebe was off dating demons, Prue was ignoring her love life and Paige was being, well, Paige, Piper and Leo proved time and time again that love really can conquer all.

One of the most charming aspects of the series was watching the divine relationship between these two develop over the years.

The magical duo first started dating in season one, were married by season three and had their first bb in season five and although they had their share of challenges, they were a beautiful reminder that when love works, it’s absolutely ~*magic*~.

Chandler & Monica (Friends)

These two were proof that friendship is the greatest foundation for a relationship as they started off as BFFs before ultimately getting together.

By then, they knew literally everything about each other which made it an easy transition from pals to one of TV’s greatest couples EVER.

Monica‘s OCD qualities benefited Chandler‘s relaxed nature and vice versa – Chandler’s carefree way of life had a great impact on the highly strung chef.

Plus it’s even more beautiful when we look back on seasons before they got together and see how they were low-key always destined to be together.

Turk & Carla (Scrubs)

This hospital-born romance is the actual definition of love at first sight, at least from Turk‘s side of things.

Scrubs fans watched ol’ Turk compete for Carla‘s affection and ultimately win her over (after overcoming a few speed bumps, that is) which was a truly impressive feat for the goofy surgeon and proved that the pair were always meant to be.

After getting hitched, they later experience some marital trouble and briefly separate which, frankly, added a sense of depth and realism to their relationship and reminded us that not everything in relationships is sunshine and roses.

They ultimately get back together and have a bb and it was so freaking adorable to watch these two crazy kids become parents.

Jim & Pam (The Office)

Name a better office romance… I’ll wait.

Unlike some of the other couples on this list, the relationship between these two funny folk didn’t span the entirety of the series. Season one kicks off with Pam engaged to her boyfriend of eight years and while the sexual tension is rampant between the pair, they are forced to repress their feelings for one another until the end of season two when Jim finally confesses his love for the receptionist.

Watching how their newfound relationship factored into the workplace was an absolute delight and possibly one of the best storylines.

Shoutout to the Valentine’s Day ep when the pair try to find a secret hiding spot in the office to have a V-Day bang.

that post-sex smirk

Seth & Summer (The O.C.)

Ya know how traditionally the beautiful popular people get with their fellow beautiful popular people and the geeks get with the geeks? Well Seth and Summer bucked this trend and their differences ultimately added to their cuteness.

Any ep where Summer took an interest in Seth’s geeky habits or Seth tried his best to impress his high-maintenance bae was an absolute feat of lurve.

Also let’s not forget that these two gave us one of the best fkn kiss scenes to ever grace a television screen:

Charles & Liza (Younger)

Admittedly, these two have an extremely flawed relationship what with the lie about Liza‘s age and all the work drama but at their core, they are legit perfect for each other.

That moment when they finally kiss after building up their sexual tension for so long was truly a triumph.

oh the tension… so much tension

Season five ends with the pair vowing to work harder on building their relationship which means that hopefully we’re in for some major development in season six, but only time will tell.

Until then, we’ve got their incredibly steamy sex scenes to enjoy:
