You Can Totally Get Gay Married On Sydney’s Manly Ferry Next Valentine’s Day

Just in time for the wave of same-sex weddings we are about to joyously cop, the NSW Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages is offering 24 couples a very special nuptial treat: the chance to get married on the iconic Manly Ferry.

Not only with the lucky two dozen score a nautical celebration of their lurve, but the event will take place on Valentine’s Day.

Attonery-General Mark Speakman said of the promotion:

“Valentine’s Day is the most romantic day of the year and what better way to say ‘I do’ than aboard one of Sydney’s iconic ferries. This is the first time the Registry has conducted weddings on the water and it’s bound to be an unforgettable experience.”

Considering that it’ll be the first Valentine’s Day since the long-awaited legalisation of same-sex marriage, I don’t think I’m being at all unreasonable in passionately hoping that all of the 24 couples who get hitched on the high seas be same-sex couples.

Whoever does take advantage of the one-off wedding deal will probably end up saving a shitload of money, considering that it’ll cost you just $572 for a ferry ride to wedded bliss as apposed to upwards of $10k.

Couples will be able to get on at either Circular Quay or Manly, and will say their vows against the very picturesque backdrop of the Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. The ferries are even going to be dressed up in ribbons and bows for the occasion.

Instagrammable, cheap, and history-making? Better book now, folks, ‘cos it’s a ripper of a deal.
