Facebook Praises Marriage Equality Ruling With Rainbow ‘Celebrate Pride’ Filters

Waking up this morning—finding US mates, news outlets and celebrities alike flood our Facebook and instagram feeds with #LOVEWINS, over the historic marriage equality ruling in America—has been a pretty damn gratifying start to the weekend, tbh.

The internet is truly fabulous, today.
To add to the celebration taking place in America today, and to acknowledge that while Love has won in the US, but it certainly hasn’t in countless other countries in the world (CC: STRAYA) Facebook has rolled out a feature called ‘Celebrate Pride‘, allowing users to give their profile pictures the it so desperately deserves – either as an act of celebration, or an act of support for the nations who are still—somehow—coming to grips with the term, “Love is love”.
Go forth, and celebrate pride over here. It feels so good.
Meanwhile, Google has also shown their support for the ruling with this sweet easter egg – typing “gay marriage” or “marriage equality” into Google today will give you this.
Twitter and YouTube have also shown their support: the #LoveWins hashtag now comes with a rainbow heart attached; and Youtube has released #ProudToLove, a moving video tribute to the LGBT community.
