Everyone’s Favourite Gay Icon, The Babadook, Is Crushing It At LA Pride

Thanks to an unlikely confluence of internet things, the titular Babadook from the film ‘The Babadook‘ (not to be confused with other Babadooks, obviously) has been declared and subsequently celebrated as a gay icon and, frankly, we are 100% here for it.
While the Babadook being gay has been bouncing around as a meme for at least a few months now, it has only recently stopped being an in-joke among the most Online of teens and been introduced to the broader public, and just in time for Pride Month.
You (foolishly) might think that a terrifying, Victorian-esque nightmare man dressed in all black wouldn’t be a hugely good fit for a typically colourful and vivid pride march, but you would absolutely be wrong.
As Vulture editor Kyle Buchanan documented at LA‘s Pride March, the Babadook was out and about and extremely out:

This would turn out to be the first of many:

The movie might lead you to believe that, having overcome their grief, the Babadook was tamed and confined to the basement, but as you can clearly see, he is out and living his best life:

As a bisexual man myself, I am perfectly happy to share a letter with one of the other groups if it means we can finally all acknowledge that the B actually stands for Babadook.
