BYE BYE, BABADOOK: This Fabulous Sexy Crocodile Is Twitter’s New Gay Icon

Look, I’ll allow that times right now can seem pretty dark. There’s a volatile orange narcissist in the White House, the Earth is warming so much as to make plans for the future a laughable fantasy, and we don’t even have Carrie Fisher around to cheer us up any more. 

But there are some good things about 2017. Like, for example, the sudden and inexplicable rise of certain popular culture figures to positions of Undisputed Icon, courtesy of this wonderful gift / terrible curse we call the internet. 

First there was The Babadook as LGBTQ icon (he is bisexual, and Ben’s husband, in case you missed that one).

And now, there’s the powerfully sassy anthropomorphic crocodile known as Cuca, who’s suddenly reappeared in an incarnation of shade and drama we didn’t know we needed so, so much.

So who is this fabulous creature? Apparently Cuca was the villain of a Brazilian children’s TV series, ‘Sitío de Picapau Amarelo’, and is a witch trapped in an alligator’s body, which… well.
